THE 15TH GRAND PRIX HISTORIQUE DE MONACO: THE AWA MECHANICS TEAM IN ACTION IN THE PITS OF HISTORIC F1 CARS (RICCARDO PATERNI SPORTING DIRECTOR)

The AWA (Automotive Women Association) project takes shape in the unique context of the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, thanks to the expert coordination and supervision of the Racing & Classic team.

The dream of bringing a team of all-female mechanics to a historic Formula 1 weekend has become a reality thanks to the participation of Lucrezia Milanesi and Daria Gavriliu, who were directly involved in the pits at one of the most iconic events of the year.

The shared vision of Gigi Taverna (owner of Racing & Classic) and Monica Zanetti (co-founder of AWA) was crucial in making this experience possible. Lucrezia Milanese and Daria Gavriliu were thus able to experience a highly formative journey, working closely with technical coordinator Salvatore Cabras and sporting director and communications manager Riccardo Paterni, supported from Italy by Luca Greco and Anna Mangione.

The race weekend required a great deal of adaptability. After Francesco Macrì, driver of the 1954 Lancia Marino F1, crashed in qualifying and was forced to retire, the team quickly reorganized its operations. AWA mechanics also supported the management of the 1946 Cisitalia D46, driven by Davide Leone, who nevertheless set his fastest time of the weekend.

Valerio Leone, driving the 1983 Arrows A6, also put in a strong performance. Starting from seventh place out of 25 cars, after a collision in qualifying, he faced a challenging race, marked by a safety car and a red flag in the early laps. Thanks to clear-headed restart management and precise work from the pit crew, he mounted a steady comeback to finish a well-deserved fourth place.

This result demonstrates the strength of teamwork and the value of a project that combines training, inclusion, and technical expertise. The entire AWA team thanks Gigi Taverna and the Racing & Classic Team for making this experience possible.

Something Motorsport is brewing under a Tuscan gazebo

I enjoy the spring weather under the gazebo of my yard in the Tuscan countryside to write a book I had in mind since I wrote my last one in 2013!

This is just a small collection of the sources that help me to shape conversations and gain insights from so many people that like me try to improve and develop not only the Motorsport industry, better yet to use it as leverage for far greater purposes and achievements.

But I don’t want to get ahead of the story here… I let this book mature and before the end of summer time I will be ready to share some intriguing ideas with you if you care so.

A small spoiler: the book will feature real life storytelling, will point out relevant related considerations regarding the past, present and future and will also feature improvement action plans for us as individuals and for our organizations.

Most of all, it will contribute to make our passion for Motorsport even greater and more deeply rooted, no matter what is our age or gender and no matter what we truly enjoy doing in life.

Stay tuned for updates… (this first edition of the book will be in Italian, an English edition is in the plans already…).

“Performance Style”, neuroscience, an innovative integrated method to support individual and team performance in organizations.

On January 22nd, in the enchanting setting of Atelier Ricci, a historic building in Lucca’s historic center, MindUP Enhancement Psychology® and MR Corporate joined forces to introduce the “Performance Style” methodology for corporate performance development.
Riccardo Paterni, co-founder of MindUP, introduced the meeting. Emanuela Caiano, co-founder of MR Corporate, and Lorenzo Baldassarri, co-founder of MindUP, then introduced an innovative method that integrates neuroscience and objective scientific measurement with targeted soft skills learning. All this to generate conscious, concrete, and objectively measurable performance from an individual and team perspective.
An individual performance focused on key aspects: results, efficiency, resilience, and quality. A performance designed (using the integrated MindUP and MR Corporate methodologies and protocols) that included: current status analysis, identification of improvement levers, gradual implementation, and, finally, continuous monitoring.
The tailored context of the location was conceptually aligned with the tailored approach used for dynamics. The meeting involved entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals from various parts of Italy who participated in live exercises and demonstrative scientific measurements.

Riccardo Paterni supports AWA Team at the 10 hours Fox Running race at Modena track

Riccardo has represented RPM, MindUP and AWA in supporting the  all women  drivers racing team.

The Fox Running 10-Hour Race took place in Modena last Saturday, December 6th. RPM took to the track as a partner of AWA, supporting their first all-female team, “Women on Track.”

Two other organizations from our network supported this fantastic team: Andreoli & C. as sponsor and MindUp providing technical and psychological support.

The Fox Running
The 25th event of The Fox Running, held on December 6th at the Modena racetrack, closed this year’s season.
50 competing teams, 10 hours of racing, and a technical and challenging course, where both old acquaintances and new talents raced, for a race that draws ever-increasing numbers every year.

Female Empowerment Takes a Stand in Motorsport
And it is in this context that “Women on Track,” the AWA team, partnered by RPM, came into play.
An all-female team, born from the vision of three great women: Monica Zanetti, Lady F40 and the first female mechanic in Ferrari history; Laura Tancredi, president and co-founder of AWA with Zanetti; and Anna Mangione, founder of Wheels on Heels.

The team, led by Nives Ardetti, took to the track with a concrete project: to gain the space women deserve in motorsport.

RPM’s Presence
RPM was the official partner: our logo, featured on the KIA Rio 1.5 Turbo Diesel, raced around the Modena racetrack throughout the race.

The support of two other network members was also crucial: Andreoli & C., as sponsor, and MindUp, providing technical and psychological support throughout the race.

Congratulations, Women on Track!
This race is yet another demonstration of how the network is much more than just a collection of companies and professionals, but a true team that supports and motivates one another.
Congratulations, therefore, to all involved, and especially to the Women on Track riders for this crucial milestone.

Riccardo Paterni co-coordinates a High Performance Coffee Club event at Motorvalley Accelerator

A Thursday of coffee, discussion, and networking took place on December 4th for the High Performance Coffee Club. As always, organized by GMA and powered by RPM, it took place in an exceptional location: the Motor Valley Accelerator headquarters.

Motor Valley Accelerator: The beating heart of innovation
The choice of the Motor Valley Accelerator as the venue for the latest edition of the High Performance Coffee Club allowed companies and industry professionals to meet in a place where innovation in high-performance engineering is the order of the day.

An opportunity for startups and professionals
Motor Valley Accelerator offers young entrepreneurs and startups the chance to present their high-performance engineering ideas and raise funds and financing through a structured program divided into several stages.

The HPCC at the beginning of the month was therefore not only an opportunity for networking, but also for meeting professionals interested in new ideas and projects.

The Success of the HCPP
This simple and direct format is the key to the success of this event, which brings together an ever-increasing number of professionals from the motorsport, advanced engineering, and automotive sectors.
The goal? To stay up-to-date on market trends, projects in development, news, and opinions, over a good coffee and outside of the company walls.

Until the next HPCC!
Thank you to all the professionals for participating in this edition of the HPCC, and also thanks to the Motor Valley Accelerator for offering their venue as a location for our networking.
